Weekly results update 7/8th & 14/15th April 2018

After being off last week I will try and cover the last 2 weeks in the one update. Apologies if I miss anything or anyone out.

Adam Holland: Its been a very busy couple of weeks for Adam. Firstly CONGRATULATIONS on the birth of Ottilie Emma Holland during the week!!Paris Marathon medal.jpg

But before that a great Paris Marathon result finishing in 2:35:04 sec which is a fantastic time but bearing in mind it was hot and he had got kicked in the Knee cap with 8 miles to go by one of the other runners, its even more impressive.

7 days later it was off to Brighton to run the marathon there where he finished 33rd!

Brilliant achievements!

Cycling Sheffield: The weekend of the 7-8th April saw the team at the Tour of the Mining Valleys in Wales where a solid 10th place was won by Kieren and then on to the Hanbury RR where Harry finished a “solid 4th

Last weekend was the big Chorley GP race with some big named teams involved. The team showed the rustiness caused by a few weeks of not great weather, some crashes and the team being relatively new together. A good solid race was had though and the team finished well in the second group on the road.

A solid couple of weekends as the team build their road craft and experience.

Red Walters: had a great result at the Archer Spring Classic Nat B Criterium with a 2nd place!!! Great season so far! Another great video too here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtqEvLHzVBQ&feature=youtu.be

Basildon aquathlonYiannis Christodoulou: Yiannis got his season well and truly underway on the 8th with a brilliant 2nd place in the Basildon Aquathlon. A great start in preparation for the world champs in under 90 days!

Eden Morton: On a personal level the first match of the Cycling Speedway season was a great success with 4 wins from 5 races but unfortunately the win eluded the Sheffield team.

Helen Russell: A fantastic effort completing the WBA Foundation ride from Swansea to the Hawthorns raising some much needed funds for the foundation.

Team Russell Athletics: The Sheffield Festival was last weekend with some fantastic results and personal bests for loads of Jamie’s athletes. Including times that will rank highly in national standings come the end of the season, and its only just started!

So a great couple of weekends for all involved and again sorry to anyone I missed and for it being very much a whistle stop tour trying to get 2 weekends of action in!
